Zamboanga, Philippines, 09/04/2019, Building Bridges Tour.
In this talk, the learned Sheikh Menk addresses the topic of Hope.
He touches upon the need for us to have hope in the mercy of Allah s.w.t.. You do not know what the future holds for you but Allah knows. Put in the effort after which turn your hope to your Creator.
You need to have hope in your Lord in who possesses your future.
It all begins with us. Allah does not change the condition of a nation in a positive way unless we change our condition in a positive way.
We came onto earth to spread the message of Islam which is Peace. This is a religion of Hope in Allah's Mercy and Allah's Forgiveness. When the Prophets came onto earth, they struggled. Why did Allah make their lives difficult when He could have made it easy? HE did it to them in order for us to learn that life is a struggle , a challenge. This is why every single one of us faces problems. It is for Allah to test our hope in Him.
And remember that the shayateen's job is to make us lose hope in Allah because if we think Allah does not forgive us, we will cease seeking His forgiveness.
So keep your hope in Allah and His Mercy shining bright always and strengthen it by constant remembrance of Allah.
Al Manar International Tolerance Convention
This important talk is about tolerance. Tolerance is a necessary characteristic, specially in the times we live in today.
People have become Islamaphobic because of the heinous crimes committed by a few in the name of this beautiful religion of tolerance and mercy. Islam is tolerance. Anyone born on earth has the equal right to live on earth. We call come from the same fore father and mother, Adam and Hawa. You have the right to think what you think, to believe that what you think is correct. They have the right to believe they are 100% correct too. This is fair and a s it should be.
The prophet s.a.w taught us to greet others, regardless that they do not look like us not because of any reason besides of its great importance and benefit. We are supposed to smile even when we are sad. The prophet s.a.w said our smile is a sadaqah. Its so important to have a good expression on our faces always.
Tolerance is the factor that shall spread peace and harmony around the globe. The Almighty has given us a verse in the Quran - which is we are created to worship the Almighty. He didn't say I sent you on earth to fight, spit, kill others who differ with you. Rather He sent us on earth to build, to forge ties, to try to spread the goodness, to stay away from His prohibitions which disallows us to kill even a single soul.
But in order to test how patient we are with others Allah created differences. He created us different from others to see if we are prepared to engage in peaceful discourses, to discuss in a dignified and respectful manner with others in spite of our different opinions.
But tolerance has its guidelines too. To learn of these and more please make the time to listen to our learned Sheikh Menk's talk on Tolerance.
Remember - everybody has the right to exist, in spite of the differences. Tolerance is key to our future existence.
Friday Lecture, Topic: Why did Allah Almighty do that?
The Christchurch Mosque Tragedy. Cyclone Idai that wiped out almost 90% of Mozambique. Why did these things happen? More importantly, the question on most person's tongue is - why did Allah allow this to happen?
What happened was not Allah's doing. Rather it was the result of man's actions. We brought it on ourselves. Climate change is the direct result of man's actions. The killing of 50 persons in Christchurch is again a man's act.
So the question is not to ask Allah 'Why'. The correct question to ask is 'Why not'.
Why shouldn't the cyclone have happened when we have depleted the ozone layer, filled the air with greenhouse gases, filled the land with murderous chemicals?
Why shouldn't the man have murdered 50 people in cold blood when we as Muslims have not educated society that Islam is about unity of the community, love for your neighbours, respect for all persons, regardless of race and religion?
Our assistance to others is relative to our capacity but what matters is we must reach out. For the mukmin and the believer, our difficulties bring us closer to Allah. For the future reverts, our actions in the face of these difficulties is what brings to them knowledge and understanding and compassion.
So listen to the beloved Sheikh as he informs us of the Mercy of Allah that brings us closer to Him when He takes something away from our lives.
From Christchurch to The Netherlands. From Ethiopian Airlines to Cyclone Idai!
The Huge loss of life. Just as we condemned the terror in Christchurch, so we do in the Netherlands. This insta-live video outlines four major incidents where life was lost and damage to property and infrastructure in some.
Friday Sermon, New Zealand Shootings, Friday 15/03/2019.
Some advice and guidance in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at two Mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are in desperate need of healing. This will only come about through love, kindness, respect and understanding.
Speaking about what to do. Olive Oil (Extra Virgin Cold Pressed) Zamzam, Ajwa Dates, Black Seed and its oil, Raw organic Honey etc... Figs are beneficial too. Don't let people fool you by making you do silly things with the excuse of curing you...
I'm going to fix her!" "I will show her what I can do!" These are statements made by men when the level of relationship with Allah is at its lowest. But Allah Almighty is the Most Just. It's important to know how Allah helps those who are wronged and punishes the wrongdoers.
Release them upon good terms. Be respectful even in dispute. Above all, be fair and just! The Prophet Muhammad pbuh would never condone bad behaviour towards women.
#divorce #talaaq #mahar #muftimenk #lovepreacher #motivationalmoments
Allah the Almighty tests not on what we achieve. Rather it is the good we try to achieve. Trying to wake up in time for fajr prayers even though you slept at three; trying to get out of bed even though all you want to do is sink back into it. Trying to face the day-to-day obstacles in the best way possible - with a smile even though that's the last thing you want to do.
Imagine the lives of those who live in danger zones. Imagine how trying and terrifying each and every day must be for them. Its not a question of what to wear to the meeting today or how to convince the boss to approve their leave; rather it's the very real uncertainty of 'will I live to see the sun set or is this the last stale morsel I feed my baby'.
And yet they do not give up. They hold fast to Allah's promise the His reward is with those who are sincere in their efforts to face the trials and tribulations of life.
Hence - try. Do not give up. We aspire paradise. Maybe never in this world will you be applauded for effort but certainly in the hereafter your Creator shall reward you paradise for trying.

The prophet s.a.w. says behold in the body is a piece of flesh which if good and pure the whole body will be good and pure and if dirty and diseased the whole body will be dirty and diseased.
It is the hidden sins in the heart for eg jealousy, pride that are diseases that stem from syaitan. It is these diseases that are the original sins of syaitan. When Adam a s. was raised in status syaitan asked “Why him? Why not me?” He disobeyed his Creator. He went out of his way to lead Adam astray.
Therefore avoid the wrongful path taken by syaitan by becoming conscious of the condition of our heart and be pleased for the goodness that comes others way.
We must think of others in the best way. Whatever you do may it be for Allah, to impress Allah and not ourselves so that Allah grants us a high level of interaction and connection with Him
Light Upon Light
In this talk, the venerated Sheikh reminds us of our duty to our parents. He helps us to find the balance between our daily affairs and our duty to our parents.
Simple acts such as including the Dua for parents after each salah, calling your parents at least once a week can draw the mercy of Allah on us. When Islam behoves us to show mercy to strangers, what more to our parents.
But his talk also touches upon the duty of parents towards their children. Placing unfair demands upon children at the door of duty and obedience towards parents is unislamic and will not be left unpunished.
Therefore find that balance between duty and dunya and begin a new relationship today by calling, sitting, cherishing our parents.
Light Upon Light 12, London
In this talk our respected Sheikh takes us on our quest for happiness.
Allah says in the Quran ,“I have not created mankind or jinkind except that they worship me”. What this verse refers to is leading your entire life according to what Allah has ordained. That is your first source of happiness and contentment- Allah.
Allah goes on to say in the Quran, “..whoever from amongst you who believes and does good deeds (ie stay away from the bad and do good) we guarantee they will have a good life”.
So focus on your relationship with Allah. Remember - the latest gadget or car or clothing or holiday destination will always end in two square meters when you leave this Earth.
The Hadith says the affairs of a true believer are amazing because no matter what happens to him or her, good or bad, it is always good.
Thus the fact remains that the closer we are to Allah, the happier we shall be for Allah is the Owner of Happiness.
After advicing us to protect and nurture our ties with Allah, the Sheikh thereafter continues to inform us of the other channels that will bring Allah's pleasure upon us. Do Take time to listen to this brief talk to increase your knowledge in your search for happiness.
Part of the Building Bridges Tour. Davao, Philippines. Hosted by Faredatunnisa Foundation
Building bridges. The first bridge the venerated Sheikh informs is the bridge with Allah.
He is Rabbun - the one how nourishes, who protects, the one in absolute control of all aspects of existence.
So we build the bridge to Him to connect with Him when we return to Him. Remember- Where you are going is where you came from.
If Allah could create you from nothing, don't you think He can create you from your bones?
This life is only 60-70 years in average. But those who died for 500 years are dead for longer then they were on Earth. Keep passing the tests by building that bridge to Him by worshipping Allah alone to cross the most important bridge in our existence - the bridge over Jahannam - As-Sirat. Those who built the correct bridges to Allah on Earth will cross as fast as lightning. Seek your forgiveness of Allah and your bridges will be built. And don't let syaitan blow your bridge up by forsaking hope in your Creator Ghafurur Rahim. Never give up on the mercy that Allah has promised.
The next bridge is the bridge to Muhammad s.a.w. We have become racist, tribalist, we have broken bridges where we should have been building them.
We all connected through Adam a.s. But Allah says He created us different from each other for us to know each other. Sadly every tribe believes they are better. Iblis’s crime was just that - ana khairun minhu- I am better than you. Stop thinking we are better than others. We are equal like the teeth of the comb. We all have equal access to Allah and what makes us better is that bridge we built with Allah and His Rasul s.a.w.
So begin perfecting that bridge with Allah and His Rasul by building your relation with Him immediately. Start it by finding time in your daily routine to listen to the talks published on Muslim Central.
Connecting the Pearls Islamic Conference in Manila. The theme was Action!
Behold its your deeds
How do we enter Jannah? Is it through our deeds? No. It is through the mercy of Allah. So how do we secure the mercy of Al Khaliq?
Will looking like Idris Elba or Priyanka Chopra enter you into Jannah? No. Allah cares not for your physical appearance. It is your deeds He's after.
Behold in the body is a piece of flesh that if it is pure then the whole body will be pure; if it is dirty, filthy then the whole body will be dirty filthy.
Allah will see that you are trying to achieve the best and that brings on His Mercy toward you.
So begin your good deed of the day, everyday by listening to this lecture and other lectures on Muslim Central.
This talk today addresses two duties, namely the duty we have to Allah and secondly the duty we have to each other.
The venerable Sheikh touches upon the relationship between you and I, between different races, between us and the rest of the creatures of Allah.
And in all these relationships to never leave Allah out of the equation.
We ought to bring Allah in our every connection, be it with ourselves, family, friends, belongings, animals that cross our path and even in to our relationship with social media.
We must remember that we shall be called to account for our every action of our tongues, body and these days fingertips.
Therefore preserve that pure relationship with our Creator by preserving the relationship with each other.
Remember verse 56, surah HUD which means- ‘Surely I rely on Allah, my Lord and your Lord; there is no living creature but He holds it by its forelock; surely my Lord is on the right path’.
Building Bridges Tour of Mauritius.
We have been taught most of us to show respect towards others. We were taught by our parents and at times teachers. But is this respect limited to only people whom we are acquainted? What about friends of friends? Extended family members 100 times removed? Cats? Dogs? Snakes? Pigs? We are forbidden touching dogs but there are circumstances that permit.
Remember the man who was forgiven all previous sins and granted paradise simply for his one single act of respect and kindness? What did he do? He gave a thirsty dog water to drink. Who was watching? Nomads? Passing caravan maybe? No. No one like that. Only the One who mattered most- Allah. He saw and He rewarded.
Next we look at dignity. It is needed in our every manner; in our every act and speech. Even the fingers forwarding messages must be filled with dignity. Do not demean ourselves by forwarding lude albeit funny messages or memes because remember- it's being recorded in our book of deeds.
Islam is a religion of respect and dignity. The Quran tells us so. The example of the greatest man to walk this Earth teaches us so. When he could have quashed a people for spilling his blood he chose instead to complain to the Almighty of his own shortcomings. That is respect and dignity for others.
To increase our knowledge on these two important attributes specially in a time when hate is rampant and latent, please listen to this speech by Sheikh Menk.
Topic: The Reaction
Masjidul Quds CapeTown
22 June 2018
What does the Quran tell us about how we are to react in situations? Are there specific ways and methods for a muslim to react? Of course there are. And in this jumuah khutbah, our learned mufti lays down for us the manners of reactions as prescribed by the Quran. Listen to this short talk to increasing our knowledge on the best ways to react to earn Allah's pleasure.
Allah SWT is the al-Ghaffar and is ready to forgive us whenever we ask for forgiveness, no matter how severe our sin. In this final episode of Supplication Series on the last night of the Ramadan, Mufti Ismael Menk talks about seeking forgiveness and making Astaghfar. Asking Allah for forgiveness is important in our daily lives and specially during the last part of the Ramadan, though one should not wait till the last moment to do it. In this talk he mentions certain supplications that can be used to make Astaghfar.
We all socialize and we all go through times when we are confused about some major decisions in our lives. In this episode of the Supplication Series, Mufti Ismail Menk talks about two supplications from the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) which would help us in our daily lives. The first one is when we end up gossiping in parties and events called Kufaratul-Majlis, it will wash away the sins we receive for our acts while sitting at the gathering. The second one is the du’a for Istekhara an act from the Sunnah for times when we need to make some tough decisions in our lives and need some guidance.
Are all the times for making du’a equal? In this episode of Supplication Series, Mufti Ismael Menk talks about the specific times when our du’a is more likely to be accepted. Of course this doesn’t mean that we delay making our du’a, but certain times are more blessed than the others. He also talks about the right way to make du’a and to always remember that the blessings in the Hereafter are never ending and will never be taken away from us. He also talks about du’as were we ask Allah to increase us in our wealth and in our success.
Our deeds have a lot of effect on what happens to us. When we do something haram, or eat haram or earn haram income, it will have an effect on our lives. Allah SWT taught the Prophet (PBUH) how to pray to Him and how to ask Him for forgiveness for the wrong we did. In this episode of the Supplication Series, Mufti Ismael Menk talks about certain supplications from the Sunnah that can be used to ask Allah for forgiveness. He also talks about supplications where we ask Allah to protect us from sadness and anxiety, and to give to peace and content with what He has given us.
Death and poverty are two things that almost every human being worries about. In this episode of the Supplication Series, Mufti Ismael Menk talks about certain supplications from the Sunnah that deal with death, wealth and knowledge. We all pray for a good life but it is also very important to pray for a good ending. He also talks about du’as where we ask Allah to give us barakha in our wealth and keep us away from poverty, disgrace and oppression. The Third du’a he mentions is for knowledge and halal income.
It is important to remember Allah not only in good times (with gratefulness), or in bad times, to ask for help, but in our everyday life. In this episode of the Supplication Series, Mufti Ismail Menk teaches us a du’a from the Sunnah that we should read to make our daily life better. In this du’a we ask for many things including enough fear of Allah, enough knowledge of the deen, good use of our hearing and sight and victory in bad times among many things.
There are certain things in our life that can cause mental stress. Mental stress is something really bad because it cannot be seen or heard by anyone. In this episode of the Supplication Series, Mufti Ismail Menk talks about this du’a from the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) where he would ask Allah to protect him from certain things that cause mental stress in our lives like debt, laziness harms of wealth and trials that are caused by poverty. The du’a also seeks protections from the fitnah of the dajjal.
Depression and anxiety are becoming very common in our times. In this episode of the Supplication Series, Mufti Ismail Menk discusses some important du’as that could be very beneficial in our daily lives. In these du’a we ask Allah to protect us from old age, miserliness, helplessness, anxiety and sadness among many other things that are effecting so many Muslims of our times.
Seerah Conference 2018, Doha Qatar, Day 2
As there were many lessons learnt from the pre Hijri period, there are now just as many if not more to be taken from the post hijrah period.
Sheikh Menk makes it easy for us to glean those lessons by dissecting the incidents of this time. Lessons of social etiquette, of government policies, lessons of a closer more personal nature too.
Much is to be learnt from the battles that were fought, from the diplomatic ties that were established during the post hijrah period. When to stand and fight for eg in BAdr and Ahzab; when to leave as during Uhud and the cancelled Pilgrimage at Hudaibiyah.
When to focus on the small things like showing mercy to babes and the kuffar and when to focus on the larger picture as during the Hudaibiyah Agreement.
Find the time to listen to the venerable Sheikh expanding on all these and more lessons to be taken from the post hijrah period of our great history.
Seerah Convention Doha Qatar. In this one hour talk the learned Sheikh addresses pre Hijra Makkah from the perspective of Islam and the treatment of the Prophet s.a.w. and early Muslims. We are reminded of the ethics of the Arabs and their steadfastness to culture. Then we are 'taken' on the trials and tribulations of the early Muslims and their firmness to the faith in the face of the cruelty that the Arabs threw upon them. A talk worth listening to remind ourselves that in times of hardship faith and will power are needed to ride the waves of persecution.
This is a roughly twenty minute talk by the knowledgeable Sheikh. Here he reminds the dire need for muslims to focus on the halal all the time and to abhor the Haram as did the companions of the Prophet s.a.w.
Know that every king has limits and Allah's limit are those things He has made haram. Because the energy that you derive is Haram and a single morsel of haram has an impact on your whole body and future. If you are prepared to transgress Allah's limit then you will not hesitate to go beyond.
We are living in trying times where everything has become commercial. Bear in mind that Syaitan comes to you bit by bit and makes you reduce the value of haram so that in your eyes so that you start justifying something that is clearly haram because you used to justify that which was doubtful.
If you are not bothered with halal and haram then you will not be bothered with transgressing the limits of Allah. Thus stay away from the doubtful so you do not go beyond Allah's limits. Become halal lovers for the sake of loving Allah.

Topic: We all make mistakes
Masjidul Quds CapeTown
Except for our beloved Prophet s.a.w., there isn't a single person who can lay claim to perfection. We have all made mistakes and what's most important to note is that even some of our prophets made mistakes.
For instance, the first man to commit a wrong was our father, Adam a.s. But did Allah swt Himself not teach Adam a s. the supplication to invoke in seeking forgiveness?
Then we have Musa a.s. who killed a man. Did Allah not forgive him too?
It is this that Sheikh Menk reminds us of in his talk. It's crucial to remember for the sake of our faith that Allah is Most Merciful and that He shall continue to forgive us so long as we seek forgiveness and repent when we err.
Jumu'ah Lecture delivered at Masjid Tariq bin Ziyad at Qurtuba in Linbro Park Johannesburg.
Here our beloved Sheikh touches briefly but concisely on the trials faced by the ummah today and the solutions to those dire problems. He also stresses the importance of hope. He reminds us that we are not alone in this and that there is success in unity and hope.

What is your purpose in life? Is it to live to accumulate wealth followed by grabbing onto power thereafter to enforce that power upon others whose lives cross paths with yours?
Or is your purpose the absolute opposite? To seek the pleasure of Allah by being of service to others?
Do you wish to be with the one you love in Jannah tul firdaws? Do you seek the companionship of the greatest human to have graced this Earth?
If it's the latter, then listen to Mufti Menk as he informs you the quick and sure way to be pleasing your Creator- by following in the footsteps of the beloved companions of the Prophet s.a.w. .
What did they do that made Allah pleased with them that they will be with their beloved prophet in Jannah? Pay close attention to the advice of our Mufti Menk to inshaAllah achieve this honored position too.
Public lecture delivered in Accra, Ghana during the Points to Ponder Tour. Do you wish to know whom Allah loves? Why does He love such persons? Do you want to know if you are in that elite group? Or do you require some special impossible to obtain 'passcard’ to enter this group or could it really be simpler than pulling all the strings attached to all your networks?
The answers to these questions and more are within this talk of Mufti Menk wherein with references to sahih hadiths, the mufti identifies 8 steps to become the best, a state every Muslim desires.
Listen to this talk to discover how you and your loved ones can seek and be the Best in Allah's sight. And pay close attention to the Mufti's closing statement. It is conveys an important message to all of us.
Friday lecture delivered in Accra Ghana- Curing the heart Here, the mufti takes to the mimbar to educate and inform us about the importance of a clean heart, one that is pure from impurities.
Just like scum that leave their mark in our baths, so do habits like envy, anger, selfishness, pride leave marks on our Iman. If not cured, these lead to violence resulting in deaths and in some places are already leading to killings, as was predicted by our beloved prophet Muhammad s.a.w.
Withverses of the Quran and hadiths, our mufti educates us on the crucially required curing of our hearts. Listen to this talk and increase our knowledge and our chances of earning the pleasure of Allah.
Ramadan 2017 – Save Yourself – Part 2 – Episode 11
Taraweeh Lecture at Masjidul Quds Gatesville Cape Town
Date : 5th June 2017
Topic : Save Ourselves Part 2
Speaker : Mufti Ismail Menk
This episode continues the story of Musa (a.s.) that was mentioned in the previous episode. But first here is a reminder: Sometimes Muslims that are born in Muslim families take Islam for granted, whereas a revert might care more for his new religion. We should understand that Islam is a gift and should not take our deen too lightly.
Now the continuation of the story: After the mages prostrated, the pharaoh said (approx.): "I have not yet allowed you to believe him." (This also shows that he knows that he is not god himself, but he still remains with pride.) Therefore he threatened them with a big punishment, but the newly become Muslims had no fear. They knew that they are going to Allah (s.w.t.). Allah forgave them and promised them paradise.
Important lesson: Change yourself for the sake of Allah (s.w.t.), Even if it feels hard, the reward is far beyond imagination! Don't be irritated if you are being tested, as this is a part of the believe.
May Allah (s.w.t.) give us this type of conviction to us, too, ameen. A similar case happened with Umar (r.a.).
Allah (s.w.t.) then commanded later Musa (a.s.) to go to the sea with this people. The pharaoh followed them with an army. The children of Israel became fearful but Musa (a.s.) knew that Allah (s.w.t.) will help them. He opened with the stick the sea for them to flee. The pharaoh with full pride said, that he opened the sea and marched with his army to Musa's (a.s.) way. But this path in the sea was mentioned to be the death punishment for the pharaoh. Only in his last second of life he accepted Islam, but this type of believe cannot be accepted, as Allah (s.w.t.) mentions. This is the end of story of Musa (a.s.) in the 26th surah.
Here we also learn: The pharaoh was with his people the majority of his time and yet he was totally wrong. So even if the majority nowadays is wrong, we are still obliged to follow that which is right.
Allah (s.w.t.) has the highest rank of mercy. He has the ability to punish (he will in certain cases) but his mercy encompasses his anger/punishment. Therefore a believer should often ask for Allah's forgiveness, as he is the most forgiving, the most merciful.
Taraweeh Lecture at Masjidul Quds, Gatesville, Cape Town
In this episode we were reminded that Allah has prepared paradise for us and it is not out of reach. Allah grants freedom every night of Ramadhan and save from hell fire.
The characteristics of people that will enter Jannah are :
* They say we have believed and want you to forgive us
* They are patient
* They are truthful
* They are obedient
* Therefore don't lose hope, but change your ways and habits.
Save yourself by following the prophet S.A.W has Allah has instructed and He will love you and forgive your sins.
Don't question the decree of Allah instead keep asking, hoping and trying but never lose hope in Allah.
Help yourself by believing in Allah and do not associate partners with him. Listen to belief in Jesus, avoiding unnecessary argument and many more in this episode.

Asalam alaikom wa rathmathullahi wa barakatu
Bismillah irahaman irahim wal hamdulillah rabbial amin “... ...”
All praise is indeed due to Allah, subhana wa t’ala. Blessings and salutations upon Mohammed sallahu alaihi wa salam, his household, his companions. May Allah, subhana wa t’ala, bless them all and bless every one of us. Amin.
My brothers and sisters we know that it is important for us to visit one another, especially when one of us is not doing too well. So, on this day, we remember those from amongst us who are ill, sickly, who could not make it here this evening, or where ever they are across the globe, whether they are listening right now, or listen later or may not listen, we ask Allah to grant them cure.
Remember, when a person’s heart is softened, it is actually when they are not doing too well. When they are in need of prayers, when they are in a condition that may not be 100%, generally their heart is ready to receive any goodness. This is why it is important for us to make it our business to go out to visit those who are not doing too well. A good word can go a long way in not only boosting their morale, making them feel better but even in drawing them closer to Allah, subhana wa t’ala. So therefore we always remember one another, we always pray for one another. I receive so many messages on a daily basis, please pray for this person, that person, sometimes by name, sometimes without a name. I’m sure it happens to a lot of us. Let’s pray that Allah grants them shifaa. May Allah, subhana t’ala, grant them good health. Remember, when you pray for someone else, the angels are making the same prayer, for you! So, it’s actually du’a for your own good health.
The same applies to those who are incarcerated, those who are in the prisons at the moment. I actually receive e-mails and letters from the inmates who listen to this program, live and even later on. It’s amazing! I wouldn’t have guessed this, but for a few years it has been happening. My brothers, my sisters, we remember you. Our hearts are with you. No matter what has happened, we are not really too interested in what has happened, the fact that the correctional services are taking care of you, we are quite confident that, by the time you come out of there, you will have corrected yourself and we are ready to accept you back in society, and community. Amin.
My beloved brothers and sisters, the reason I start this way, is because sometimes, even if there is nothing wrong, it’s important for us to visit one another. You maintain family relations. You go for a reason, that purpose is in order to boost the relationship. We have something known as al Rahim or the will, Qoorba, those who are related to us through the womb, those who have a relationship through blood with us, we should be keeping some ties with them. It does not have to be so much that they get irritated with us. Nor should it be so little that we don’t even know who our relatives are and we cannot fulfil their rights. If we don’t know who our family members are, if we have not introduced our children to the broader family, how then would we be able to fulfil the great act of worship known as “maintaining family ties” when we don’t even know who they are? So, it is important.
A lot of the older people used to take pride in the family unit. I hope it is not done in order to draw ‘tribal lines’ or lines in terms of ‘caste’ etc because those lines are the lines of the period of ignorance. They mean nothing in the eyes of Allah, subhana wa t’ala. How many families are suffering because the parents think that they are above the others because they come from a family that belongs to a caste, audhu billah, that they claim is higher,

This lecture starts with rules and regulations concerning morality. One of which is rules guarding against accusing chaste women of fornication and adultery, this is a great sin in front of Allah and which we have to be very careful about because it is now common in the society.
Another crucial point in this episode is seeking permission before entering another person’s house and turning back when you are not welcome; learn to give people space. Those who have high rank should not swear an oath that they will not help those who are relative, poor etc. just because they have wronged them because there is peace in forgiving others. Cover your beauty and lower your gaze to save yourself from hell.

Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jumuah 3
We are encouraged to speak softly and politely when calling people to Allah so that people might take heed, an example of this is when Allah commanded Musa to speak politely to one of the most arrogant people (Firaun) to have trodden the earth. As Muslims, we are to save ourselves from hell by being among people who prostrate in forgiveness and not be arrogant when it comes to prostration (Salah). True believers are not intimidated to give up their faith because of threats and what people will think about them. One of the secrets of having sustenance is prayer, so keep praying and Allah will increase your sustenance. Save yourself from miserable life and being resurrected blind by not turning away from the reminder (Quran). We were reminded in this episode how all messengers of Allah called to Him in their time of needs and He answered them, so we should learn to lean on Allah, He is sufficient for us and the best disposer of our
affairs. Dear brothers and sisters don’t let your bad deeds over shadow your good deeds and be among the losers on the D day by seeking a lot of forgiveness. Do not be among those who worship Allah on edge, that is they are happy and turn to Him when they are happy but Turn their back on their faith when they are being tested.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 25

Don't lose hope in the mercy of Allah because of your sins for He is Most forgiving Most merciful.
Protect yourself from angina with prayer and praising Allah.Be grateful for the gift of knowledge and ask about what you don't know.
Do not be confused, being happy is not connected with material things and Allah promised good lives to the believers.
Call towards Allah with wisdom for that is the best.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 21
In this interesting episode of save yourself series we were reminded that gratitude is not all about utterances but most importantly in changing our sinful ways to adopting Allah's commands. We should thank Allah to be protected from sins, to achieve the pleasure of Allah, to increase our sustenance, and to avoid Allah’s severe punishments and wraths.
Working only for dunya is not enough, marry the dunya and akhira for you to be saved from the great torment. Do not let Shaitan deceive you into committing sins because he will absolve himself on the day of judgement. Never fall into the category of people who argue about doing the lawful things but commit sins in a whim.
My dear brothers and sisters ponder on the gifts Allah has given you and you will never finish counting the favours He has bestowed upon you, so why can you not show gratitude by observing your Salah at least. Do not wait till the day you will ask Allah to send you back to the earth for you to do good deeds but it will be too late.
Let Allah look after you by memorizing the Quran because He has promised to protect the Quran therefore automatically protecting the memorizer. Don’t lose hope because you think you are too old to memorize it, remember that many companions of the prophet(S.A.W) memorized the Quran when they were above 40years.
Listen to this and more in this touching episode.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 20
Suratu Yusuf is the beginning surah of this episode where Allah brought to light the forgiveness of Yusuf towards his brothers. Allah is telling us to learn the spirit of forgiveness and stay away from grudges. Learn to forgive others and the Most Merciful will also forgive your sins.
Do not be upset when people choose the path of Allah for what is better than that?
Be a celebrity in heaven that angels are familiar with rather than celebrity in life that is a stranger to the angels.
You get upset when people are against the prophet (S.A.W) when your whole life is against his teachings, that is you don’t pray, don’t dress appropriately, don’t give up music etc. and you say the belief is in your heart. Don’t break Allah’s covenant by disobeying Him .
Solve your family dispute and seek calmness in remembering Allah.
Save yourself from failure through gratitude and patience.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 19
Prophet Yusuf’s story (alaihi salaam) started in this episode. The lessons in this Surah are so
enormous and Mufti has given us the summary for us to ponder on and make use of in our daily lives.
The first lesson which is the opening of the Surah is to learn to be secretive about one’s affairs contrary to announcing all you blessings which is what is common nowadays on Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc. Because Shaitan is bad and makes people do unacceptable things, he clouds them with jealousy, envy even when they didn’t want to be mean, but if you don’t display your affair, he can’t tempt them, learn from Yusuf’s story and hide your blessings for that is better for you, because not everybody is happy with your happiness.
Everybody is capable of lying even children, so verify any tale and don’t spread rumour that will destroy the honour of a fellow being.
Yusuf (alaihi salaam) was a happy child and accepted Allah’s decree because he was convinced of Allah’s help. He preferred to be in jail rather than disobey Allah by committing adultery. He was punished for a sin that he didn’t commit and did not for once blame Allah or black magic. He kept worshipping Him and even calling people to Allah in jail.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 18
This episode starts with prophet Musa’s story which is the story repeated most in the Quran. He was patient with the one who used to call himself god (Pharaoh). He was patient for a long time despite his oppression until he finally supplicated to Allah against him (Pharaoh). The lesson here is fear the supplication of people you have wronged against you for there is no barrier between that supplication and Allah. Allah has declared war against people who harm His friends and you don’t know if the person you have oppressed is His friends, so be careful and do not oppress.
Furthermore, pray, be patient and steadfast and Allah will guide you, like he guided Musa (alaihi salaam) through the sea. Don’t let money and power cloud you judgement be humble not arrogant with these blessings and tests from Allah if you don’t want to be destroyed like Pharaoh. Seek Allah’s forgiveness as long as you are alive and not at the point of death for He does not accept repentance at the point of gargarah.
The story of prophet Nuh (alaihi salaam) was also mentioned, his patience, mockery, his child’s disobedience to the message, and Allah’s wrath on his people.
Finally, Allah said He revealed the stories of other prophets as lessons for those who have intellect.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 17
Mufti reminded us the importance of salutation upon the prophet, his wives and companions at the beginning of this episode.
The reason Allah repeats things in the Quran is to remind the benefits to those who believe, therefore do not be irritated with these reminders rather be honoured about them.
Don’t be among the people who make dua when they need something from Allah and forgets after He has answered the dua like they never called to Him. Know that Allah tests the worshippers He love for them to be closer to Him.
Listen to this episode for you to hear the qualities of Allah’s friends and the interesting challenge Mufti menk gave in this episode.Ramadan 1437H 2016 from
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 16
This episode is loaded with many lessons as usual, so take a bit of your time and benefit your soul to save yourself from hell.
Fulfilling Salah is more than the physical act, so concentrate in your Salah.
Qualities of a hypocrite: he lies, he breaks promises, he betrays trust, explode during debates, so beware of them.
Believers are protectors of one another therefore have duties to other believers like encouraging them to do good deeds and discouraging them from bad deeds.
Follow Muhammad (S.A.W) like Allah said in the Quran and do not be deceived by hypocrites.
Fulfil your promise to Allah to save yourself from hypocrisy and don’t laugh at people earning the pleasure of Allah.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 15
Always remember our brothers and sisters suffering around the globe in your prayers, May Allah ease their difficulties.
The reasons we have failed as a Ummah are dispute and disunity. Allah Himself has told Muslims to obey Him and His messenger and avoid dispute for us to be successful. If not we will become unsuccessful and our power will be lost. Just look at the Muslims in the world today and you will see the truth in Allah’s statement. The non believers have strength because they are protectors of one another.
War is not required of Muslims. We were taught to always lean towards peace, accept hands stretch in peace and lean on Allah; if they want to cheat you then Allah is sufficient for you. Islam does not teach violence. When enemies accept Islam they automatically become your brothers and Allah forgive their sins.
Be careful and do not let your love for family and wealth exceed your love for Allah if you don’t want calamity to strike you.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Episode 14
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, Talk 5
This episode started with an important dua which is to ask Allah to make one understand His rules. Allah has made the period of Idah a time to save women from rumour and time to ponder and reflect. So if Allah has prescribed something for you it is the best for you.
Another point here is concealing charity is better for you but it can be made known if it will be an encouragement for others to do the same. Hunt for those in need to give them charity because they will not ask and beg and they need the assistance first for Allah forgive sins of the charitable.
Also there is no barakah on the wealth that has interest because the source is faulty and can result in calamity. Allah has announced war against people that eat interest, so protect your income and save yourself from the wrath of Allah. Fear the day you will be given the details of your deeds.
Furthermore make sure you write debts down and bring wirnesses to save yourself from discord, disunity and disagreement. This lecture ended with dua used by S.A.W in the last verse of suratul baqarah.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, 4th Talk.
The lesson shaitan thought Abu Hurairah to protect against him and his progeny is Ayatul kursiy, and Rasulullah S.A.W confirmed that it is true even though the devil is a liar. So also is suratul falaq and Nas therefore we should try as much as possible to recite them alot to be saved from hell.
We were reminded not to delay charity to the month of Ramadhan for indeed spending can not decrease one's wealth, rather it increases blessing, purify wealth and make one less materialistic and among the successful. In addition don't brag about charity and remind people you are charitable towards for you to be awarded in life and hereafter.
Allah has promised to assist a worshipper as long as he is assisting other worshippers. Almighty Allah also told us to give charity with what is good and acceptable and not something that has spoilt.
Ramadan 1437H 2016 from Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg, South Africa, 3rd Talk.
This episode started with a reminder that everything happen per the plan of Allah therefore we should not take supplication out of our plan when facing difficult situations or success because Allah wants us to call out to Him.
Another salient point in this episodes is warfare. Muslims are told to fight in within limits by Allah. The people to fight are those who fight them and not those who do not fight them, women, children, those who put their weapon down, those who turn their back etc. There is chao in the world because killers don't know why they are killing and those they kill don't know why they are being killed.
Allah also told us to do what is beneficial to us and avoid what is harmful to us. We should be happy when corrected and not arrogant but dare to improve. One of the salient issue is about marriage and divorce.
